Kendall Central Oregon Joins Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office for a Heartfelt Shop with a Cop 2025

To kick off our 12 Days of Caring, Kendall Central Oregon was honored to join the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office for their annual Shop with a Cop event. Students from the Bend and Redmond school districts were nominated for an unforgettable holiday experience, receiving the opportunity to shop at Walmart alongside a local deputy.

Oregon State Police, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, and Bend Police Department picked up the selected students from their schools and brought them to Walmart, where they shopped for meaningful gifts for their family members. Once the shopping was complete, the kids proudly brought their carts to the Kendall team and many other community volunteers, who helped wrap each gift with care. We were truly amazed by the thoughtfulness behind every gift, including blankets chosen for moms, Lilo & Stitch toys for siblings, and sturdy work boots for dads. Each gift reflected the heart and gratitude these students carried into the experience.

Adding even more holiday magic, Santa Claus made a special appearance, and our team loved handing out our Kendall antler beanies to the kids; even a few deputies joined in on the fun! Shop with a Cop is an incredible three-day event, beginning in Redmond and wrapping up with two full shopping days in Bend. We are deeply grateful to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and the many volunteers who made this experience so special. Together, we helped create a holiday moment these families will never forget
